Families and groups are invited to join us for our FREE Earth Day celebration in partnership with Grange Insurance Audubon Center and Presenting Sponsor Amazon! We've got A LOT of projects in store to help kids take action in protecting the environment and investing in our planet's future. Activities are geared towards kids ages 2-12 and will include: wind-powered cars, learning about composting and recycling, environmental letter writing, wildlife encounters, a hydropower station, bird migration game, slingshotting seed balls into the prairie, making plarn, tree planting, and so much more. A bunch of community partners will be on site to educate kids on various environmental stewardship actions. And after an overwhelming response from last year's event, the live music of Joanie Calem and 2nd & 7's book swap will both be returning! This is a RAIN OR SHINE event.

GROUPS ENCOURAGED. Here are some details:
Small groups of kids, ages 6-12 are welcome, whether you lead a Scout troop, faith-based group, gardening club, or just your neighborhood crew of kids, we'd love to give your group a chance to give back to the community for FREE! Here are some FAQs:
Q: Why must kids attending with groups be ages 6-12 only?
A: Some of the service activities require more adult attention for younger kids and we know groups can’t bring one adult for each child. Families are welcome to bring ALL their kids, regardless of age.
Q: How do I register my group?
A: Pick your preferred shift below! If you are registering a group, you can submit a single registration for your group and you’ll be asked to tell us a bit more about your group during the registration process. We will also ask you to verify that you understand our required chaperone to child ratio.
Q: Can adults attend this event without kids?
A: Sorry, no. Since there are so many awesome volunteer opportunities for adults and teens, we would like to save this event for those bringing someone under 13.
